This school year, a fresh new addition has arrived at Neumann’s campus with the opening, of Ocean City Coffee in the entrance to the Bachmann Building.
Located in the heart of the university, this café offers a place for students to grab a quick drink, study, or relax between their classes.
Students are pleased.
“The Ocean City Cafe is the best, cheap, and delicious. They have the best quality coffee,” said Brendan Boyle, a cyber security major.
Carter Vanderhoofven, a secondary education and political science major, agrees, “I really like the coffee shop, it seems like a lot. The stuff they sell is effective and people seem to be using it frequently.”
Happy students are what the university administration was ultimately hoping for.
“One of the main reasons for opening a Coffee Shop in Bachmann was to increase the number of dining and beverage options for students and staff on campus,” said Bruce Cairnduff, chief financial officer at Neumann. “We chose the Bachmann lobby building because it is a relatively high-traffic area and is hopefully the most convenient location for potential customers.”
While students like the coffee shop, they believe there is still room for improvement. “The coffee is pretty solid, I just wish it was less expensive,” said Sean Moore, a political science student.
His classmate, Donald Rosenkrans added, “I really enjoy the coffee shop and it is very easy to access. I wish they had more sugar-free flavors.”
Ocean City Coffee currently has three locations, all in New Jersey, and it is headquartered as the name indicates in Ocean City, N.J.
