Neumann Knights Fall Sports Finals

As the fall semester begins to wrap up, so do the sports for the Neumann University fall athletes. However, with the closing of one season comes the opening of another. Here is a recap of fall sport finals and winter sport’s opening week.

Men’s Soccer

Entering conference play, the Knights secured a first-seed placement and were given a bye for the first round of conference play. The team would then play the semifinal match at home against Marymount University. After a tough fought match on the turf, the Knights managed to score in overtime, winning 2-1. The stage was set, and the conference final match would be played, once again on the Neumann Turf Field. The men’s soccer team fought long and hard, and all that work, dedication, and time paid off. The Neumann Knights would go on to win the Atlantic East Conference Championship against Cabrini, 1-0. The team would finish the season 9-4-3 with a .656 percentage. The Knights will now advance to the NCAA tournament against Mary Washington.

Win, 1-0, Cabrini University, Home, Atlantic East Conference Championship, 11/4

Women’s Soccer

 The women’s soccer team also made a conference run getting two ties before entering the tournament. Their first-round game was an absolute blowout win against Centenary, beating the Cyclones 4-0. However, all good things must come to an end. The Knights would fall to the eventual champions, Marymount. The Knights’ final record is 7-6-4 with a .529 percentage.

Win, 4-0, Centenary University, Home, Atlantic East Conference First Round, 10/28

Loss, 0-2, Marymount University, Away, Atlantic East Conference Semifinals, 10/31

Field Hockey

Field hockey had a rough finale to their season, losing their last three games. The Knights did, however, qualify for conference play, but unfortunately fell to Cabrini University 6-0 in the first round. The Knights final record is 5-14 with a .263 percentage.

Women’s Volleyball

The women’s volleyball team has stayed strong these past few weeks prior to their conference tournament, which began November 7th. The Knights managed to secure the second seed and had a bye for the first round of conference play. On November 9, they defeated Gwynedd Mercy 3-1 and qualified for the finals against Marymount. The team’s overall record is 18-10 with a .643 percentage.
