Knight Life: Things to do in Aston

Neumann University welcomes various students — from diverse cultures, regions, and backgrounds. Some students have cars on campus, while others do not. Additionally, several students are over the age of 21, allowing them to take part in the nightlife scene in and around Aston. Regardless of your age or car situation, there are numerous opportunities to have fun in your free time here at Neumann!

IceWorks Skating Complex

For those who have an interest in staying active, IceWorks is a great option! Every weekday starting at noon, IceWorks hosts ā€œfree skateā€ for 90 minutes. Admission ranges from $12 to $15, with skate rentals being $3.

If you are looking for a more cost-efficient alternative, the Neumann men’s and women’s ice hockey teams play all their home matches at IceWorks. Admission is free for all Neumann students. The men’s team plays Stevenson University next on Friday, February 2nd, at 7:00 p.m., and the women’s team plays Manhattanville on the same day at 4:00 p.m.

Linvilla Orchards

Located in Media, Linvilla Orchards offers a variety of fun for all ages. Linvilla boasts a variety of family-friendly events, including indoor mini golf, petting zoos and hayrides. For those who are over 21, Linvilla also recently added a beer garden, featuring fire pits, corn hole, patio heaters and other enjoyable activities. ā€œI love going there in the fall with my friends,ā€ says senior Brandon Baskerville, ā€œThere are so many different activities to enjoy, which makes it really fun for all ages.ā€

Linvilla’s attractions lineup changes regularly depending on the seasons. In the fall, they feature hayrides, face painting, apple picking, and more! Tickets range in price depending on the activity, starting at $8 for indoor mini golf and even going up to $25 for their upcoming ā€œPar N’ Barā€ event, where teams of 2-6 players make their way through the 18-hole mini golf course while enjoying brews from the newly added Ship Bottom Beer Garden. This event is scheduled for Friday, February 9th, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
