All Hatt and Some Tricks: Freshman Phenom Starts Off Hot

Freshman center midfielder, Julianna Hatt has been causing quite a commotion on the women’s soccer team. Already scoring a hat trick and earning Atlantic East recognition, she has already made her impact known.

Julianna is a graduate of Coatesville High School, who is now majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education.

After earning player of the week twice and already scoring a hat-trick against Keystone College, Hatt appears comfortable coming in to Neumann. Although that wasn’t exactly the case.

“I feel like I’ve quickly developed a relationship with my teammates, but I was nervous with the different level of play,” said Hatt.

Upon arrival, Hatt didn’t even see things playing out like how they are now.

“When I came in as a freshman, I saw myself just playing but to be starting and scoring is more than I anticipated, my teammates and coaches have helped me push in the role and I hope I can keep being impactful in this role,” Hatt commented.

With the type of performance she’s been giving, it is safe to say that she is becoming very comfortable and exceeding those expectations.

“I’ve adjusted and became more comfortable with the competitive differences with the level and games,” she continued.

Head coach Kurt Nusshag is impressed with Hatt’s play and seemingly will continue to have a high standard of Hatt.

“I really like she brings to the table and what we currently see with her performance so far, and I think she is no doubt a big part of Neumann’s future, she’s very driven and focused and she works really hard during practices and games she is a great individual, and her success is only going to continue” said Nusshag.

While Hatt may have an important role on the squad, that doesn’t mean all the others aren’t important either.

Nusshag says the whole team has good chemisty and sees the team moving in the right direction with a lot of potential.

As the season rolls on, Hatt is optimistic about the road ahead for her and her teammates.

“We had some ups and downs, some injuries concussions broken bones and it’s been a little difficult currently but if we stay healthy and keep progressing and keep moving up our chemistry on the field, I can see us going to a Conference play later on” said Hatt.

As the season goes will we continue to see great things from Hatt and the team? Only the future will tell.
