Spring musical: Hello, Dolly!

Hello Dolly! follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a strong-willed matchmaker, as she travels to Yonkers, New York, to find a match for the miserly well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire Horace Vandergelder. The leading roles in Neumann’s production of Hello Dolly! were Ashley Diamond as Dolly Gallagher Levi and Matthew Glass as Horace Vandergelder.

This musical was staged in the Meagher Theatre on March 10th through March 13th. Neumann’s production included a cast of 14 students and five alumni. John Baxter is the director for all the performances with Dr. Richard Sayers as the music director and Ashley Diamond as the choreographer.

Hello Dolly! was first performed in 1964 with Carol Channing playing the lead role. This play is known for its wonderful musical performances.

Plays like this one make people laugh, enjoy themselves, and be entertained by watching live performances before their very eyes. Plays are a great way for student actors to express themselves and feel the excitement of joy of being on stage, singing and dancing to make the audience proud of their artistic accomplishments. Neumann University’s spring musical has shown what it means for students to have the opportunity to be known for all the hard work that they put together for a successful performance.
