Pull up a chair and join Cole and Gavin for another episode of Around South Philly — loud, chaotic, and completely unserious, just the way Philly sports should be.
This week, the Eagles drama is already heating up and A. J. Brown has found himself at the center of it all. Rumors, frustration, and a whole lot of emotions — we try to process what it all means (while also not handling it well at all).
The Phillies… yeah. It’s rough. Worst run differential in baseball, back-to-back sweeps from the Braves and Cubs, and vibes are dangerously low. Somehow the NL East is still a mess across the board, so hope isn’t completely gone… but it’s hanging on by a thread. We’ve got thoughts on Rob Thomson, Dave Dombrowski, and whatever is going on with this roster — plus a few unexpected bright spots that are keeping us sane.
The Sixers give us the full emotional rollercoaster. Game 1 was ugly, but Game 2? A completely different story. The backcourt showed up, we stole one in Boston, and now Joel Embiid is ramping up for a return. Suddenly… there’s life again.
The Flyers continue to be the one team actually giving us something to believe in. We’re not gonna pretend we fully know what’s going on, but we do know they’re hot, they’re fun, and names like Porter Martone are giving us plenty to get loud about.
We hand out Awards of the Week as usual but cut out our “super totally definitely not biased assumptions” this week… but don’t worry, we’ve still got a surprise in store.
If you live and breathe Philly sports (and the emotional damage that comes with it), you’re in the right place. Tune in next week for more wacky, emotional, South Philly sports nonsense
