Pull up a chair and join Danica and Cole for another episode of Around South Philly — loud, chaotic, and completely unserious, just the way Philly sports should be.
This week, the Eagles are already dealing with outside noise and somehow everyone has something to say about the Patriots coaching staff and ESPN talking heads like they’re plotting our downfall. Classic Philly week.
The Phillies are in full “what even is happening” mode. Andrew Painter makes his return and immediately reminds everyone why the hype is real, while Taijuan Walker continues to test the patience of an entire fanbase. Things also get a little chaotic when our guy José Alvarado drops by to visit — and suddenly everything feels just a little more unhinged in the best way possible. Somewhere in the middle of it all, chaos baseball is thriving and we’re just along for the ride.
The Sixers give us emotional whiplash as usual — there was hope, then there wasn’t, then somehow there is again. Joel Embiid is still missed, and we’ve all collectively convinced ourselves that this is the year anyway. The Flyers? BIG playoff energy. Underdogs, momentum, and a very loud message to Pittsburgh: you’re next. It’s chaotic, it’s fun, and it feels like Flyers hockey in the best way.
Plus, we dive into some chaotic super totally definitely not biased assumptions about Phillies players as teachers, and hand out our Awards of the Week.
